Learn Probability Density Function for JEE

In 2022, the JEE Main and JEE Advanced entrance exams will be administered by the JEE Apex Board (JAB) rather than the NTA, according to the Ministry of Education. It has been decided to rebuild the JEE Apex Board in order to ensure the smooth conduct of both the JEE Main and JEE Advanced Entrance Examinations in 2022. NTA would no longer be conducting JEE Main 2022 and JEE Advanced 2022 Exams. The NTA would provide a permanent secretariat to the JEE Apex Board. In addition, the JEE Apex Board will be backed by the JEE Interface Group, which will consist of five members selected from the NTA, IITs, and a leading delegate of ISI (Indian Statistical Institutes), who will be suggested by the JAB.

Students should keep an eye on the official web portal for further updates. The probability density function is an important topic which JEE aspirants should learn thoroughly. Students can expect questions related to probability density function for any entrance test. In this article, we will discuss how to find probability density function and tips for learning probability density function (P.D.F).

Probability Density Function

We can call a function f(x) as P. D. F. of a continuous random variable x if it holds the condition, f(x) ≥ 0 ∀ x ∈ R and the integral over the function equals 1. The graph of this function will be a bell curve. We use the probability density function and cumulative distribution function to explain the distribution of continuous random variables. If differentiation is done on the cumulative distribution function of x, we get the probability density function.

JEE aspirants are advised to practice and learn problems on probability density function so that they can easily score marks on this topic. Mock tests will also help them to get an idea of the pattern of probability density function questions. Important properties and formulas from this topic should be noted in short notes for future reference and quick revision. Students can expect one question from P.D.F for any entrance test.

Events in probability

Probability is a very important topic for the JEE Main and the JEE Advanced exam. There are different events in probability. Sure events, impossible events, dependent and independent events, complementary events, mutually exclusive events, simple events, etc., are some of them. Students are required to learn the different types of events in probability and the formulas to solve them. Previous years’ question papers on probability are available on many websites. Some of them provide free solutions too. So the JEE aspirants are recommended to make use of all these resources to learn probability and crack the probability problems easily.

Students can also make use of important equation notes, previous years’ solved question papers, and revision notes provided by BYJU’S so that they can take their preparation to the next level. Students should never overwork, which may result in many physical illnesses. They should take enough breaks while preparing for the JEE Main exam.
